Good for the kid; not so hot for your computer December 27, 2008
The interactive learning experience with this set is excellent, once you get past the software's two big annoyances: (1) each disk puts AOL adware on your desktop and in your program folders. While that's expected from downloaded freeware, adware junk should not be tolerated in anything you pay money for. And, (2) per the instructions, you cannot run the program without the CD in the disk drive--loading the program doesn't transfer it onto your hard drive, it just gives you a desktop icon that points to the disk. To work around that, I created new folders in my Program Files folder, copied all the files on the the disks to their respective folders, then loaded each program from that. I then used the Windows search tool to find and delete all the AOL junk.
